" A Marvelous Day To Swing "

It's morning. The early birds are chirping, the sun is blazing and; as far as the TV weatherman is concerned; it's going to be a marvelous day. What a perfect time to plant some sunflower seeds and start anew.
But when the first thing on your to-do list is kick your girl out and tell her you never want to see her again, streams of tears crashing down from the heavens and pieces of freshly-broken heart flying in every direction threaten to ruin an otherwise nice day; at-least for the girl. Nothing can ruin my day; at-least that's the mood; as I look out the window, at the park across the street, with a smile. But the swings are just a childish metaphor for both the kind of romantic happiness a guy like myself could never have with a girl like her and the kind of romantic happiness a girl like her could never have with a guy like me. And despite my selfish antics, it's not that I dont care about her dumb ass. That's why I'm telling her to look on the bright side, enjoy the day, find a friend to hit the park with and play, and possibly find the man of her dreams. "He wrote a poem for you," I tell her, jokingly; "You and only you." But I may as well be talking to the wall with the ear of my nosey neighbor stuck to the other side of it. After all, you dont hear much when you're crying your guts out. And you dont see much when you leave your eyeglasses behind in a fit of mushy rage. Not that it's any of my concern as I make my way to the model chick over there on the swing. | ||
