We've been living in Detroit all our lives. And over the years; we've learned how to survive in, cope with and adapt to its boisterous nature.
This track approaches things from the outside lookin in; addressng the curious tourists who want to see for themselves what all the fuss is about. Besides, they've been in town for several hours and haven't tripped over any dead bodies yet; so it can't be that bad. Actually, it seems pretty nice to them. They're enjoying their vacation and consider all the bad things they've heard about this place nothing more than a global misconception.
In the meanwhile, we're at home; in the heart of the ghetto; where the blatant sonance of gunshots from a few blocks away no longer fly the pigeons away. They just keep pecking bread as the area bums gaze at their wings in envy.
The beat, led by a dark bassline and grimey drums, reflects the mood of the city; while the vocals paint a vivid picture of what it's like for the people who call it home.
