" Another Song About Fine Girls "

Marcel Lee

When it comes to pop music, few things get as much attention as fine girls. That may sound like a joke, but it's actually true. Just think about it. From Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" to Chris De Burgh's "Lady In Red" to Michael Jackson's "Rock My World", how many times have you heard a hit song about a physically attractive female floating along the audio air-waves of modern society?

Well, here's another to add to the list. It's one caddish bachelor's ode to the opposite sex's physically elite; the fine girls; as the porch hogs and basement beasts look on in envy.

Led by a testimonial rap-and-sing arrangement over a groovy bass-line, chi-chi drums and amative guitars; the track suddenly abandons it's laid-back formula at about 2:40... doubling in tempo and morphing into the story of an encounter I had with some hip-shakin, nap-necked girl I met at a dance club one night.

"How am I supposed to choose between all these girls?" I ask on the chorus; but judging from the lonely soul speaking her heart via telephone voice-mail on the prelude, I guess I'm not doing much choosing after all.
