" Careless Angel "
The girl I'm mocking at the start of this track, nicknamed "Angel" by her mother for being so nice and sweet as a spoiled little rich kid, isn't the brightest star in the sky. In fact, she's rather dumb; about as dumb as any other girlfriend who's fallen victim to the Spain game. That's where the boyfriend's lies include a romantic honeymoon in Madrid or the Canary Islands.
But the marriage date hasn't been set, neither has she seen a ring. All her future dreams are set adrift on mere promises, from a guy she trusts and loves more than any other guy in the world.
Of course, "love" is too strong of a word for him to use. He prefers to say he cares about her; which, coincedently, usually happens before sex. But hey, she knows what he means. That's why it hurts her so much when people say he's no good, as if they really know him or something.
As far as she's concerned, they're just jealous; and no matter what they say, nothing's ever going to come between them.
