Oprah: I can't even mention your name around here without people going crazy.

Marcel Lee:

Oprah: Okay... Marcel Lee, you used to be an avid poster on the D-12 World board; but now your posts seem to consist of nothing more than"CLICK HERE" links to threads on your site. Outside of "uppin" those threads, you rarely even take the time to reply to anything anymore. Why is that?

Marcel Lee: Partly because of the gay-ass moderators they got now; on power trips, deleting threads and shit (ie: "M" and "Tone Riggz"). But mainly because I have my own board now (marcellee.com; something I didn't have back when I was an avid poster there), which doesn't allow me much time to "shmooze" on other boards. Anything I have the potential to post there, I'd rather post here (for all the obvious reasons); except for when it comes to stuff that has to do with D-12... in which case, I'll post it here on my site and just make a thread there to link.

Oprah: Like your D-12 song reviews and album reviews.

Marcel Lee: Exactly. And, if I'm a member of a Michael Jackson board, all my Michael Jackson reviews and stuff are being linked there... and so on.

Oprah: Leaving you with only enough time to "up" threads on those various boards while you're doing normal posting in general on your own board.

Marcel Lee: Exactly.

Oprah: But do you take the time to read the threads before you up them; in terms of the replies they've gotten? Because, at least in the case of the D-12 World board, there seems to be an awful lot of people against you... a lot of negativity towards you... a lot of hostility... a lot of hate.

Marcel Lee: Well, Oprah, you have to understand one thing... "No matter who you are, no matter what you do; as long you're trying to better yourself, pursuing your goals and basically doing your best to succeed in this world; there's always going to be those who don't want to see you make it. There's always going to be those who speak of you in a negative light, whether out of sheer hate or restrained envy. They see that you're trying to make a name for yourself, they see that you're trying to be somebody, and that eats them up inside; because they know that, both creatively and successfully speaking, they're nobodies in comparison."

Oprah: Interesting. Interesting.

Marcel Lee: That's actually a quote from the Notes to my track, "The Nobodies".

Oprah: So that's what they are? They're nobodies?

Marcel Lee: Oprah, I go to the D-12 World board to make a thread for one of my D-12 reviews. I come back the next day and the thread is several pages long. Most of the replies are from screen-names I've never even heard of, talkin shit about me. And not only are they doing it in my threads, but it's gotten to the point where I can't even keep track of the threads they've made about me. I'm talking about threads with my name in the title... just to talk shit about me. Now what do you call people who spend their lives thinking obsessively about a person who's never even acknowledged their existence?

Oprah: Nobodies; at least to the person they're devoting their lives to.

Marcel Lee: Now you got it, Oprah. And guess what.

Oprah: What?

Marcel Lee: You have nobodies too.

Oprah: I do?

Marcel Lee: Of course you do. Just earlier today; when I was at the air-port, on my way here; a guy stopped me. He was like, "Marcel Lee! Hey! I'm your #1 fan!"

Oprah: Okay...

Marcel Lee: So, as I gave him one of my promo CDs, he asked me where I was on my way to and I told him I was going on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oprah: Okay...

Marcel Lee: And you know what he said?

Oprah: What did he say?

Marcel Lee: He was like, "Oprah? I can't stand that fat bitch. Why you going on her crappy show? She look like E.T. without the make-up." ... basically doggin you out.

Oprah: Wow. Really?

Marcel Lee: Yeah. Then he went back to his cab.

Oprah: His cab?

Marcel Lee: Yeah, he's a cab-driver; Oprah ... A cab-driver you never even knew existed ... because you were too busy being Oprah ... Do you see my point?

Oprah: Yes, I think I do.

Marcel Lee: Now when he gets home, guess what he's going to do.

Oprah: What?

Marcel Lee: He's going to get on the internet and make hate-posts about you.

Oprah: lol

Marcel Lee: That's how it works, Oprah.

Oprah: Haha; but Marcel Lee, if I saw a post like that, I don't think I'd just ignore it. I think I'd be inclined to reply...

Marcel Lee: Yeah, for the first few days... weeks... months... years... like I used to do.

Oprah: Yeah, I remember all those classic "diss threads" you made.

Marcel Lee: But, after a while, it gets boring. You're responding to the same lame shit over and over again; recycled with every batch of "newbies". No creativity. No wit. No humor. No skills what-so-ever. Just old, tired shit. Start reading some of these posts against me. It's unbelievable how dull it's gotten.

It's just another case of a character on the internet, talking shit they'd never say to my face in person. Shit's been going on for years, Oprah. It all goes back to what I was saying. But hey, they keep my threads upped when I'm not there to do it myself; so-
