Which Halloween movie is the best?
This is an easy one because there’s only one good Halloween movie; Rob Zombie’s remake of the original. All the rest; said original, all other remakes and sequels included; are mediocre at best. The worst; Season Of The Witch; is downright atrocious.
I like Michael Myers as a character. His stoic ominous ways make him the quintessential bogeyman; a classic horror movie villain à la Frankenstein; but his legacy has been ruined by vacuous storytelling. Even Zombie’s sequel is a disappointment.

video review : Christine
Christine is an antique 1958 Plymouth Fury and, like most old cars, she has issues. “She’s real sensitive,” owner Arnie Cunningham warns. What he means is that if you offend his car, she might try to kill you.
Those scenes are the best parts in this love story of man and machine. It’s Arnie who fixes Christine up from trash to treasure. His transformation from class nerd to psycho enthusiast is less convincing.

video review : Halloween
What do you do after finally subduing and taking the knife from the masked murderer who’s been trying relentlessly to stab you to death? Drop it on the floor beside his seemingly unconscious body, of course, and hang around until he gets up.
It’s such dumb decisions that’ll have you rooting not for the protagonist, a girl named Laurie, but The Bogeyman himself; a ruthless killer named Michael. He’s escaped from a psychiatric hospital to wreck havoc on the night of, you guessed it, Halloween.
There are some scary moments here, most notably during the ending climax; the movie wouldn’t be as entertaining as it is if Laurie were smart enough to simply run away; but they’re undermined by all the wacky characterization and plotting.
